Blush In A Pump? Make Up For Ever HD Blush

Over the holidays my lovely aunt gave me a gift card to Sephora. Given I don’t NEED anything beauty-related (my makeup collection is as well-stocked as they come), I decided to try something completely different as one of my purchases. Make Up For Ever’s High Definition Blush seemed to be the perfect pick given I am a blush-a-holic and have never tried a creamy blush like this.

Available in 14 shades, this product claims to “combine mattifying and reflecting powders to create a soft-focus effect for a radiant complexion. Its ultra-fine, second-skin texture blends seamlessly, imparting a healthy glow that’s hard not to notice.” It is also dermatologist tested and free of parabens.

When I first received this blush in my online order, I was amazed at how small it is! At 10mL, it is roughly the same size height as a MAC lipstick and fits easily in the palm of your hand.

After trying it, however, I saw that a little goes a really long way and that one bottle would truly last for months even if used daily. Below you can see how a tiny amount of product sheers out to cover a lot of skin.

The shade I chose is #6 Quickie, described as a “salmon pink”. It’s a lovely coral that is wearble year-round and would work nicely on many different skin types. For a full overview of shades and swatches, check out beauty blogger KarlaSugar’s post.

I’ve only worn this blush a few times so I’m still perfecting applying it, but what I’ve been doing is applying a tiny amount to the back of my hand, sheering it out a little with my fingertip, then applying it to the apples of my cheeks with my finger and then using a Real Techniques Stippling Brush to stipple and blend. It blends in nicely, sets quickly, and looks incredibly natural. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the market for a cream blush!

Do you prefer powder, cream, or liquid blush finishes? Have you tried this product before?
